One of my prominent Clients based at Bangalore is calling for DBAs

1. Skills:                     PeopleSoft DB administration, RMAN, partitioning, RAC, OEM Grid Control
Experience:             2 - 8 Years
Qualification:           Any Graduate
Location:                Bangalore

Required Experience:

•         Experience with PeopleSoft DB administration
•         Exp with Oracle 9i and 10g db's& upgrading from 9i a must
•         Exp with RMAN, partitioning, RAC, OEM Grid Control
•         Demonstrate knowledge of PeopleSoft enterprise architecture concepts, including n-tier environments

Job Description:

•         Understanding and experience in basic core DBA tasks.
o        RMAN Backup and Recovery
o        Performance monitoring, diagnosis, resolution
o        Capacity planning and storage management within RDBMS
•         Understanding and experience in back-end Oracle/PeopleSoft Database Applications administration.
o        PeopleSoft Database Structure, relationship between the PeopleSoft data dictionary and the Oracle Database catalog
o        Powerful understanding of PeopleSoft Technical PIA Architecture
o        Understand Change Assistant, Upgrade Assistant and the Change Impact Analyzer
o        PeopleSoft Database environment cloning
o        Back-end change management procedures
o        Overall understanding and evaluation of the application environment.
o        Understand how Keys and Indexes are defined in the PeopleSoft Application Designer and how these definitions are stored in the PeopleSoft data dictionary
o        Help fine tune PeopleSoft PIA Components [Application Server, Process Scheduler Server and Web Server]
•         Ability to work hand-in-hand with the overall applications administration team in supporting the environment.
•         Ability to identify and report issue that are or will effect the environment as they may pertain to impact to the users.
•         Understand database security and application security
•         Know how PeopleSoft Database is structured, Database connectivity, and how PeopleSoft process authenticate the user
•         Know how PeopleSoft Application Designer generates DDL to build and analyze tables and indexes
•         PeopleSoft Locking, Transactions, concurrency to maintain data consistency, PeopleSoft sequences vs. Oracle Sequences
•         Identify SQL bottlenecks, enable Oracle's SQL trace on PeopleSoft processes and apply tuning techniques
•         Understand how the PeopleSoft Process Scheduler is used for batch and report processes.
•         Analyze application activity, obtain critical data and track down the causes of poor performance.
•         Strong interpersonal, communication, time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills are required
•         Experience supporting 24X7 mission-critical production applications and databases
•         Experience with Oracle 9i and 10g databases and upgrading from 9i is a must
