Job Description    
Primary and secondary skills * 5+ years overall database administration experience.
 * 4+ DBA skills with Oracle and MS SQL Server experience on large systems.
* 4+ years of recent Enterprise Mysql DBA experience.
* 3+ years of experience with Linux, windows platforms and cross platform issues.
 * Experience in performing backups of huge databases with no/min downtime.
 * Hands-on experience with MYSQL/Oracle/ SQL Server database replication.
 * Advanced SQL, performance tuning and scripting development skills.
* Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
* Advanced organizational, analytical, problem solving and documentation skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
 * Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security.
 * Background with immense data sets (50m+ rows).

* Maintenance and tuning of mission-critical MYSQL/Oracle/ SQL Server databases (production and development environments) .
 * Manage & proactively monitor the Data Center*s db-related hardware and software infrastructures to ensure secure services with no/minimum downtime.
* Design, implementation, and tuning of archival/backup strategies.
* SQL planning, design and optimization.
 * Provide routine data audits to ensure data quality; ability to flag and raise data issues related to systems design or user procedures.
* Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
 * Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
* Develop and maintain reporting servers, database utilities, and automated reporting.
 * Responsible for troubleshooting production data issues and provide fix.
 * Inefficiency spotting (both in queries and stored procedures).
 * Extensive writing of support UNIX shell scripts and Perl scripts.
 * Creation of new schemas and adaptation of existing ones.
 * Coordinate with and support Development and other stake-holders as appropriate.
 * Perform database system maintenance as necessary. * Perform on-call duties.
