Call Centers in India

Call centers in India sprang up in early 2001, and since then have become a big industry. The number of incoming phone calls has also increased due to the increase in the amount of clients.

India first benefited from the offshoring trend as it has a large pool of English speaking and technically proficient manpower. India's offshoring industry took roots in low-end IT functions in the early 1990s, and has since moved to back-office processes such as call centers and transaction processing. In the late 1990s, India's abundant and cheap software engineering talent combined with massive demand from the Y2K problem helped India to attract large-scale software development projects for US based customers. Currently, India's engineering talent has made India the offshoring destination of American high-tech firms, including Intel, AMD, Microsoft, Oracle, and Cisco. Each of these companies has promised or is in the process of investing at least $1 billion in India, to retain market share in the face of competition and cost-cutting measures of rivals and industry in general.

Since the year 2000s, India has seen double-digit wage growth due to the offshoring boom. Consequently, Indian's operations are now diversifying and attempting to branch out to other high-end work in addition to software and hardware engineering. These jobs include research and development, equity analysis, tax-return processing, radiological analysis, medical transcription, and more. After technical progress in telecommunications improved the possibilities of trade in services, India is a country leading in this domain.

The Basic Of Civil Engineering Jobs

When it comes to civil engineering jobs, the first thing you need to do is consider the field you want to enter. There are many different sub-disciplines, however, the main aspect of getting any solid civil engineering jobs is that you have the appropriate experience and education.

Typically, a college degree is necessary even to enter the field at an entry level position. A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, science, or engineering is almost always required. You will then need to gather the necessary work experience to become a licensed civil engineer. Four years is the minimum work experience requirement for licensing, as well as the requirement of taking an exam. The best way to get this experience is to work as an apprentice of a licensed and experienced civil engineer.

You then have to understand just what it takes to be a civil engineer. You need to make sure that you meet the standards of an engineer. For example, you we need to possess the ability to be detailed and organized at all times. You must have analytical skills, be curious, as well as creative. You have to be able to lead people, manage people and projects at the same time, as well as have the ability to work with a team of people.

On average, your starting pay will depend on the level of degree you hold in engineering. For example, if you hold a bachelor’s specifically in the field of civil engineering, you might be looking at a starting wage of $43,000 yearly. However, if you hold a masters or PH.D., the amount would likely go up to $48,000 and $59,000 yearly respectively.

5 Keys to Finding the Perfect Job for you

Looking for a job has to be one of the most humbling and often exhausting experiences we go through. It is estimated that the average person goes through 5 career changes in a lifetime - not just a job change, but a career change. In addition, the average job search for a professional or manager is three to six months. That is a lot of transition and a lot of time trying to perfect the job search process. So, I have complied what I have learned are the 5 keys to finding the right job for you. Note that this

is a comprehensive program and that addressing only one key is likely to land you either in front of your TV indefinitely or firmly planted in your office chair staring out the window as life slowly passes you by.

Key #1 - Discover your Life Purpose.

Yes, this does sound like a tall order but this is your job we are talking about. Don’t you want to spend your days doing something you love and doing something that fits with who you are? As a career coach, I find that the most fulfilling aspect of my job is coaching people to unite who they are with what they do. When these two forces come together, the results can be astounding. Many people go to work each day wishing they were doing something else, feeling unfulfilled, and feeling as though they are not reaching the level of success they are capable of. All of those feelings can be traced back to the idea of life purpose and the importance of finding a way to fulfill it through your work. The clearer people are about their life purpose, the more likely they are to experience success and fulfillment in their lives.

So the question becomes, how does one discover their life purpose? There are many books and programs that can guide you in the process but for a short exercise Marcia Bench, founder and director of Career Coach Institute, offers 10 clues to discovering your life purpose.
