Job title: Patch Management - Manager

Job description:

The Patch Manager is responsible for making sure all IT infrastructure equipments are maintained with up to date patch and are secured. Patch Manager would own and drive the patch management cycle for various platforms in the IT infrastructure and coordinates with various groups for planning, testing, communicating and rolling out of patches.
Patch Manager owns and follows the patching process and reports to the Director about the patch levels. He is also responsible for maintaining and updating the CMDB about the patch levels of all CI’s. Patch Manager should have good knowledge about the Change Management, Incident Management and Release Management process. Patch Manager is single point of contact for any patch related issues.
Experience:

• 12 years experience in computer operations environment and Bachelor's degree in computer science is required

Skills required:

• BE in CSE/ECE, MCA with 12 years and above with relevant experience
• Any of MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, Sun Certified, RHCE certification would be an added advantage.
• Ability to solve operational issues with both tactical and long-term solutions
• Should have In-depth knowledge of latest technologies.
• Knowledge on Ethics/Privacy & Security.
• Effective Verbal and written Communication
• Excellent interpersonal and people management skills
• Project Management skills (preferably PMP Certified)
• Ability to adapt with changes
• Identification and recording of the patches
• ITIL Process knowledge

Job responsibilities:

The Patch Management Manager is responsible for the successful and timely delivery of the following account services:
• Own, plan, build and manage Patch Management Process across multiple platforms
• Should have experience managing, maintaining and supporting with Windows 2000/2003/2008 servers
• Should have worked in at least two UNIX flavors in administration and patching
• Should have knowledge of working with Network devices and patching them
• Should have worked in one of patching tools like SMS, SCCM, Software Update Services (SUS)
• Should be well aware of ITIL processes
• Should have good communication skills, understanding of business impact and sense of urgency
• Develop Communication plan for relevant stakeholders
• Timely escalation of critical and/or complex issues as required.
• Recording engagement activities to help with scheduling of the patch
• Record and maintain the deviation records
• Update the patch management plan upon completion of deployment
• Ensure all Change, Reporting, Assessment processes are completed
• Manage the patch assessment process
• Engagement of the Deployment teams to deploy the patches
• Reporting of the service to the customer to ensure successful delivery
